Castles, Forts, Strongholds, Palaces, and Citadels

Soundtrack:

Hampton Court Palace, about an hour outside of London. Palatial home of kings and queens after it was 'donated' by a duke to the king.

The interior courtyard of Hampton Court Palace, with a twenty four hour clock above the doorway.

The Rock of Cashel, a ruined cathedral/fort that's been on this hill for at least two millenia.

Lynch's Castle, more of a house than a castle, from downtown Galway. Incidentally, the word 'lynch' comes from this guy's name, after he was forced by his legal duties to hang his son. Lynch's Castle is now the branch of a bank, with the most stylish room for an ATM I've seen.
