The Musee D'Orsay and the Musee Rodin

Soundtrack:

My two favorite museums thus far; also the two most sensual museums I've been in (all the pictures here have people, mostly women, in various states of undress). My pictures of the paintings didn't turn out all that well, so this is mostly sculptures.

Musee D'Orsay

I don't think the sculptor would disagree if I were to nickname this sculpture 'Horay for boobies!'

I like this sculpture for one simple reason: it's about the sexiest goddamn thing I've ever seen.

Eve, immediately after the Fall. Just look at the anguish.

The archer from the main hall of the Musee D'Orsay.

Whistler's Mother.

A picture of Van Gogh, from only a year before he killed himself.

Musee Rodin

The Thinker, in Bronze

The Thinker, with the Hotel Invalides in the background (where Napoleon is interred).

The Kiss.

What I like most about Rodin is the way he takes a sensual moment and visually exaggerates it to show how it feels to be in that moment.

The Door to Hell, which incorporates pretty much every sculpture Rodin ever did and puts them in new and interesting 'hellish' poses.

Can't remember the exact name of this sculpture, but it depicts a number of men who are about to be sacrificed to save their town.
