The Cliffs of Moher

Soundtrack: Traditional Irish pub music, filtered through loud German voices.

The view of the Cliffs coming from the ferry; the cliffs extend almost twice as high as that wall of fog, which is something I didn't realize at the time.

I could only see about 20 meters ahead of me; which, incidentally, was how many meters each vehicle was traveling per second on this stretch of road.

This is how the Cliffs are supposed to look, according to the postcards.

How it actually looked, my first time up.

Holy shit! What a difference a day makes!

O'Brien's Tower--which in terms of perspective is the size of a three story house--sits on the highest point of the Cliffs, over 200 meters above the water.

That rocky ridge jutting out there into the water is, by comparison, only about 70 meters above the water.

Some people are a lot braver than me...of course, the schadenfreude part of me was convinced he was going to fall and I'd snap a picture of him as he went over the side.

The view down towards Hag's Head.

This sign might as well not have been there, except for photo opportunities.
